My name is Noelle (Rousseau) Picozzi. I have a master’s degree in Social Work from Barry University (Miami Shores, FL) and a master’s degree in Education from Le Moyne University (Syracuse, NY). I have worked with children, adolescents, families, and adults in a variety of settings since 1993 when I first became an active volunteer for my local rape crisis center.
After 50 years in the Northeast, I currently reside in North Carolina with my husband and three children who are 19, 13, and 12. Many of the skills I learned in my academic and professional life, I have put to good use during the last 14 years as a stay-at-home mom; my husband, myself, and my three children all have ADHD, Depression, and Anxiety to varying degrees.
My life motto has been, “Learn, Grow, and Change” for as long as I can remember; my book of choice has always been self-growth. I grew up as the youngest child of immigrant parents and my father was an alcoholic, I struggled with undiagnosed ADHD into my 20’s just feeling something was “off,” I wore very thick glasses growing up in a time when being bullied was a dirty, shameful secret for the victim, I have lost both my parents and two brothers beginning when I was 13; life started as a challenge and hasn’t stopped since! Needless to say, there aren’t many scenarios I haven’t experienced personally or been a part of through family, friends, or with clients.
I have a lifelong passion for and commitment to self-growth, which probably started out of necessity/survival mode. For my master’s in education, my thesis topic was the Growth Mindset, after stumbled upon Carol Dweck, her 30+ years of research, and her book, Mindset: The New Psychology of Success, a must read!
Since September 5, 2018 I have been writing Blog articles for self-growth and empowerment with a practical life application focus. My approach requires you to put in the effort toward becoming the best version of YOU, it is not just reading material; I believe whole-heartedly this is how learning, growing, and changing will take place. The audience I target is anyone who has ever struggled with anything! I am writing a book I plan to have published during 2019.
Read, reflect, write, and enjoy the process toward the best version of YOU! I always welcome feedback of any kind! I would be especially interested in knowing if an article impacted your life in some way…
Also, please follow me on social media and share my Blog with anyone who is struggling with or who wants to live life better tomorrow than today!
